Design shapes how we live, work, learn, play, care, and move through our city. It not only impacts our everyday, but has been integral to the planning, construction and imagination of Singapore since our independence.

The President*s Design Award (P*DA) was launched in 2006 as part of Singapore’s push to develop a creative economy in the new millennium. As the nation’s highest honour for designers and designs across all disciplines, it recognises the achievements of the people making a difference to our lives and the global community through excellent design.

P*DA20: Power of Singapore Design commemorates 20 years of the award by mapping its impact on the design industry and the nation. Discover, via the interactive atlas, the works of the P*DA’s 47 Designers of the Year and 130 Designs of the Year, and how they have pioneered industry trends and expanded the definition of Singapore design. Get up close with recipients who reveal fresh insights on the making of their projects and the impact of design on life, economy, culture, and innovation.

Come explore the ways the P*DA has transformed Singapore and how you can shape its next chapter as a Nation by Design.

Embark on the P*DA20 Design Tours and explore the spaces recognised by the President*s Design Award (P*DA) alongside the designers themselves. Hear the stories behind each design, from the first ideas to challenges they overcame, and see how these spaces serve the communities around them today. There are 2 routes:

1. Reimagining Built Heritage
   Saturday, 17 October
   11am – 3pm or 1pm – 5pm

   See how two 1970s development in Redhill, Delta Sport Centre (Design of the Year 2025) and Enabling Village (Design of the Year 2016), have found new life as bustling community hubs. Plus, discover Supermama’s Singapore Icons (Design of the Year 2013), porcelain that turns familiar sights like HDB blocks into keepsakes, and decorate your own ceramic vase to take home (optional add-on at S$36 per participant).

2. Designing with Nature
   Sunday, 18 October
   11am – 3pm or 1pm – 5pm

   Head west to see how Singapore’s City in Nature vision is shaping the way we play and work. Tour Jurong Lake Gardens, Singapore’s first national garden in the heartlands, with Leonard Ng (Designer of the Year 2023), then visit SJ Campus (Design of the Year 2025) in the upcoming Jurong Innovation District, where greenery is woven into the heart of the workplace around the idea “for everyone a garden”.
