Learn more about the Communication Design industry and community through this sharing session with Don’t Mind If! Hear about their journey of putting together the self-published inaugural report, “Don’t Mind If I Ask”, and the insights gathered from 506 community members working in the local Communication Design industry. Invited speakers include designers who have contributed opinion pieces to “Don’t Mind If I Ask”, and they will be sharing their individual journeys, challenges and joys of working in the field.
About Don’t Mind If
Don’t Mind If is an independent ground-up initiative that seeks to understand, demystify and uplift the communication design industry. Run by industry volunteers, it is designed to be a community effort and seeks to put the collective interests of the initiative above that of any one person or group. Meeting on volunteered time since mid-2019, the team comprises creative professionals who share an interest and passion for the future of the communication design industry and community in Singapore. Members of the initiative work across various creative fields as employees, freelance professionals, employers and students of the local communication design industry.
About “Don’t Mind If I Ask” – The Inaugural Report
“Don’t Mind If I Ask” is a book about the lessons we learnt from asking the communication design industry how they were doing. The book consolidates the results of an independent inquiry launched in 2020, which sought to find answers on the wellbeing of industry practitioners through crowd-sourced data. Capturing 506 responses from Employers, Employees, Freelancers, Students and Fresh Graduates of our community, the data was consolidated, analysed and released to the public as a book.
