“People of Design” honours the everyday visionaries among us who are making meaningful contributions to society through design. Turning traditional medical care on its head, Dr Wong Sweet Fun has dedicated her career to discovering more resonant ways to enhance health for Singapore’s seniors. Although she was not trained as a designer, she has harnessed a systemic outlook and design research methods, and led the way to the Communities of Care framework that reflects the national agenda for preventative health.
Why fix a process that isn’t broken? What if innovating could solve an adjacent problem and add value? Oh Chu Xian, the young CEO of deep-tech startup Magorium, has found creative ways to deal with plastic waste. She’s done so in the most unlikely of contexts: road construction.
