The Learning by Design initiative brings together a community of educators, parents and industry partners to support our young for the future of life, work and play.
What is Learning by Design?
Learning by Design is about nurturing our future generation to be changemakers – creative and resilient youths who can ride the future waves of change. Students, educators and parents can look forward to programmes that will help them develop transferrable skills and flex their creative muscles through design. Our programmes are relevant to students from the primary, secondary, and junior college/ pre-university levels, as well as their educators and parents.
We are working with schools and industry partners to expose students, educators and parents to design thinking as a way of thinking and doing. Through our programmes, students can develop confidence in applying design to real world issues, while educators and parents can gain a deeper understanding of the power of design in problem-solving.
Our Programmes
Design Thinking in Schools
The Design Thinking in Schools programme brings together schools and industry partners to integrate design sensibilities into school-based learning experiences (e.g. the Applied Learning Programme, Project Work) and school processes. Through these experiences, students and school staff will gain exposure to design mindsets and creative problem solving.
Real World Co-design Platform
The Real World Co-design Platform provides a unique opportunity for students, educators and parents to gather and engage in real-world problem-solving through a design experience. They will tackle challenges from public and private organisations by applying design mindsets and skills and offering fresh perspectives on real issues.

Design Education Summit
Organised by DesignSingapore Council, the Design Education Summit is the biennial thought leadership summit in Singapore that connects educators of all levels with innovators, designers, researchers, and digital experts to promote accessibility, inclusivity, and sustainability in and through design.
