Join us for a 2-hour 3D Printing Workshop for Kids! This workshop is designed to introduce children to the world of 3D printing and how it can be used to create sustainable products using plastic waste and bamboo.

The first hour will start with an introductory talk about 3D printing and sustainable material sources. The workshop will discuss how 3D printing works, the different materials that can be used, and how people can use plastic waste and bamboo to create sustainable products.

In the second hour, the participants will move on to the hands-on portion of the workshop. We will present designs from the Circular Futures: Next Gen exhibition and give the kids a kit of parts to assemble. The kids will have the opportunity to build their own mini-structures, using the 3D printed parts and bamboo. They will also learn about filament making from plastic waste and 3D design software.

At the end of the workshop, kids will take photos of their completed small-scale designs. They will have an opportunity to see the final product they created and learn how 3D printing can be used to support a circular economy.

This workshop is designed to be fun and interactive, so please be prepared to work in a group and have a great time! Sign up now to reserve a spot!

Supported by the DesignSingapore Council and the National Design Centre.

This talk is part of the Circular Futures: Next Gen exhibition at the National Design Centre, Level 1 Atrium, running till 9 April 2023. Find out more about the exhibition here.
