The Dense and Green Cities Future Cities Lab Global (FCL G) and the Architecture Intelligence Research Lab (AIRLAB) @SUTD showcase the architecture of urban agriculture for building sustainable cities through the exhibition at the National Design Centre, centred around the theme of architecture, agriculture, design and sustainability, curated by Prof. Carlos Bañón.

In partnership with NDC, NTU IdeasFest Food Event 2023 presents a specially curated sharing session by Ms. Alba Lombardia, a PhD researcher at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Mentored by Professor Carlos Bañón and Professor Thomas Schroepfer, Ms. Alba will present her research titled ‘The Potential for Digital Models in Urban Agriculture’. Trained as an architect and agricultural engineer, her research focuses on the possibilities of urban agriculture scalability in high-density cities and the potential of sunlight-informed architectural models for controlled environment agriculture.

The session will have brief introductions by Professor Thomas Schroepfer and Professor Carlos Bañón on the topic of Urban Agriculture Architecture for Sustainable Future Cities, followed by a talk by Ms Alba.

The talk will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition ‘Circular Futures: Next Gen.’ at the National Design Centre, centred around the theme of architecture, agriculture, design and sustainability, curated by Prof. Carlos Bañón.

Supported by the DesignSingapore Council and the National Design Centre.

This talk is part of the Circular Futures: Next Gen exhibition at the National Design Centre, Level 1 Atrium, running till 9 April 2023. Find out more about the exhibition here.
