The panel discussion includes creatives like Supercybertown, Deniseardenise, Yana and Jun and New World Plaza, and is moderated by Ronald Fong.
This workshop is a part of GIFFEST III’s “Becoming Imperfect” programme series.
From May 18 to August 26, 2023 GIFFEST III showcases over 50 emerging and professional artists from Singapore and overseas pushing the boundaries of the GIF, experimenting with various modern technologies.
Programming includes inspiring workshops, talks, and a panel discussion curated by GOFY, sparking conversations on imperfection.
Presented by EYEYAH!, this year’s theme is IMPERFECT, celebrating the beauty in flaws.

Ronald Fong, Co-founder & Creative Director of Masonry Studios
Ronald is a CGI animation director and educator in the creative industry. Having initially established his career as a technically-driven 3D animator, Ronald underwent a significant transition, embracing the realms of conceptualization, storyboarding, and pitching as a story artist for a prominent children’s show at One Animation. Motivated by his relentless pursuit of artistic excellence, he eventually founded Masonry Studios, a groundbreaking venture dedicated to producing exceptional CGI advertisements, films, and music videos.
In recent years, Ronald has been actively engaged in giving back to the creative community through various avenues. His endeavors encompass crafting informative online tutorials, delivering insightful talks, and imparting knowledge in the realms of 3D animation, VFX, and the business intricacies of creative services. Through these endeavors, Ronald aims to enrich and inspire aspiring talents, ensuring their smooth transition into the ever-evolving creative landscape.

Denise Nicole Yap is a full time freelancer illustrator and animator. She loves how anyone can tell a wealth of stories through visuals, often finding ways to fill her creations with meaning. Be careful if you talk to her about art – she’s ready to break out into an essay about it at any moment!
New World Plaza
New World Plaza is a multimedia artist celebrating Asian pop culture through remixing nostalgic visuals from the 80s and 90s, bridging cultural gaps and spreading joy. Specialising in vintage Asian-inspired artwork, New World Plaza re-contextualises old print and TV ads in a fun, cheeky, and sometimes irreverent way. It provides a safe space for free expression, reminding audiences of a time when humor thrived without excessive policing, while respecting boundaries.
Supercybertown
Race Krehel (AKA Supercybertown) is a SE Asia based creative specializing in utilizing cutting-edge technology in unique ways to bring inspiring visions of the world of tomorrow to life, today. With more than a decade of creating mind-augmenting audio-visual experiences, Race seeks to change the way that people perceive the world around them. Collaborations over the years have ranged from massive activations for high profile global brands, live musical performances, prestigious cultural festivals, and intimate themed exhibitions. Race is currently creative director at Metamo Industries, continuing to blur the line between the digital and physical realms with engaging content from across the multimedia spectrum.
Yana & JUN
BÜRO UFHO is a Singapore-based design studio established in 2008 by Yana & JUN. The studio believes in the transformative power of beauty, and takes a craftsmanship approach to its projects and collaborates with like-minded brands to bring their unique visions to life.
Since 2008, they have created diverse designs, identities, illustrations, 3D animations, AR, and typography; collaborated with brands such as Apple, Adobe, Nike, and Vogue; been recognized by industry organizations such as ADC, D&AD, TDC, and The One Show.
In addition to its design work, the studio also shares its knowledge and techniques with the design community through contributions to Photoshop Creative magazine and speaking at Adobe MAX 2021.
