As part of Singapore’s Zero Waste Masterplan to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill per capital per day by 30% by 2030, packaging waste has been identified as one of the three priority waste streams to be reduced.
Through its Industry Connect platform, JTC is working with DesignSingapore Council (Dsg), as part of the Good Design Research (GDR), initiative to connect designers with companies in the packaging sector to explore innovative and sustainable packaging solutions for manufacturers that provide essential services both locally and regionally.

The Speakers
Grace Yang is currently heading the Lifestyle Department of the Food & Lifestyle Cluster at JTC, the lead government agency in Singapore championing sustainable industrial development. Her department manages a diverse portfolio of industry sectors, including timber, stone and tiles, furniture and fitting-out, printing and packaging, fashion and textiles, industrial laundry, and MICE.
TL Tan currently leads the Sales Team at Singapore’s Best Corporate Caterer, Orange Clove. With a keen sense for fine cuisine, backed by her specialisation in servicing clients from the luxury brands scene, TL is trusted by her customers for her know-how in planning praise-worthy events. She inspires with her passion for the industry and is fueled by satisfaction achieved from guests who attest to her menu planning and impeccable service.
Winnie Loo heads the marketing team as a Senior Marketing Manager in RE&S. She has over 10 years of expertise, specialising in brand concept development and communications. Her portfolio includes development and execution of multi-brand strategy and CRM implementation, and her vast experiences in marketing will provide greater insights into packaging design from the marketing perspective.
