What can we do to make Singapore’s “dabao” culture more sustainable? What happens to the felled Angsana trees piling up in the sawmills of Sungei Kadut? Will brick-and-mortar retail persevere in an age of e-commerce?
Come find out in Good Design Research (GDR)’s first showcase at National Design Centre. GDR is an initiative launched by DesignSingapore Council to support designers in their efforts to tackle some of Singapore’s biggest challenges, from sustainability to pandemic-induced issues.
This 11-month rotating showcase features a new project every month, including research findings, solutions and protoypes. Discover how the 17 selected projects address challenges across these impact areas: Environment, Communities & Culture, and People & Organisations.
Let’s design for change!
Our designers want to help solve the challenges faced by societies and cities. And GDR empowers them to design for impact through research and experimentation. Tell us what other pressing challenges can designers tackle through GDR. The best suggestion could not only win monthly prizes, it might just get picked as one of the challenge statements for our next GDR Open Call.
