For creating innovative and impactful solutions that address global and local issues such as ageing societies, under-served communities, climate change and sustainability, the President*s Design Award 2020 was conferred by President Halimah Yacob in June 2021 to two Designers and nine Design of the Year Recipients.
Jointly organised by the DesignSingapore Council and the Urban Redevelopment Autority, the biennial award recognises recipients who have contributed to economic, cultural and community transformation, raised quality of life, made ground-breaking achievements in design, and elevated Singapore on the world stage.
The award recipients and their works will be featured in an exhibition held at the National Design Centre from 1 to 31 October 2021. Through the curated interviews, videos, models and exhibits, discover and be inspired by the rich stories behind the recipients, and celebrate their extraordinary achievements and impact of their designs alongside them.
