The Good Design Research showcase continues with The Local Tree Project by Roger&Sons.
This initiative rehabilitates trees felled in Singapore by repurposing them into thoughtful objects and furniture. The Local Tree Project marries knowledge of technical specifications and understanding of the different forms of local wood, to explore a more effective usage of resources. Showcasing the journey that goes behind Singapore’s felled trees, they explore the processes of developing a more effective use of local wood.
Learn about the importance of utilising resources right in your backyard, and pick up some knowledge about local timber. What’s more, there are limited-edition Local Angsana Chopsticks up for grabs — just answer a questionnaire at the exhibition correctly about our local wood! Limited to the first 50 participants.
About Good Design Research
Launched in March 2020 in the middle of a pandemic year, Good Design Research (GDR) underscores the importance of how design backed by deep research can make a true difference by building deep domain knowledge and solving the challenges faced by societies and cities.
