Since 2019, the “Human City Design Award“ recognises outstanding projects in social design that also present the global outlook of Asia. Submitted projects should contribute to a more harmonious and sustainable relationship between people and people, people and society, and people and the environment.
Registration is open until 11 Sep. The winner will be announced on 11 Nov 2020, subject to changes due to the pandemic situation.
One grand winner will receive the prize money of USD85,000); and the top 10 nominees will be invited to participate in the award conference (as speakers) and exhibition in Seoul, in November 2020 with airfare and accommodation expenses covered.
1. To establish a sustainable city ecosystem for a harmonious relationship between people and the environment through design
2. To discuss design as a creative solution of complex social problems in the city and expand design’s healing effects around the world
3. To make design contribute to the development of mankind
a. Solution of life issues in the city: Does the theme address a design issue involving the city, people’s lives, people, the society, the environment, or the nature in order to create a harmonious human city?
b. Expansion of global value: Does the perspective of design solution show creativity and have the spillover effect that can be expanded on a global level?
c. Proposal for Future vision: Does the design contribute to proposing a vision for future-oriented global culture and civilization for the joint prosperity of the human race and the nature?
