When was the last time you made something for yourself? The satisfaction of self sustenance where you reap the direct rewards of physical, hands-on work is an indulgence in today's context where monetary acquisition rules. The connection established between maker and subject is a priceless product. "I made this myself" is one of the most accomplished, fulfilling and opulent thing you can say.
National Vending Gallery presents topic No. 5 Self-Make Kits, a collection of kits put together by designers and makers based in Singapore. Each kit provides materials and instructions designed to enable self-participation in conceiving a product. From artificial plants, natural dye silk scarf, hand-stitched book binding to customised perfume scents, each kit imparts hand-manship for a priceless experience.
Organised by DesignSingapore Council and supported by the National Design Centre.
