Bodynits International

Bodynits specialises in manufacturing active wear and stretch fabrics for various sporting activities, which may also crossover into casual wear.  As an Original Design Manufacturer, Bodynits also designs and manufactures products specially tailored for clients.  While product design is integral to the fashion industry, Bodynits also incorporates strategic design into its product development and manufacturing processes.

To minimise wastage, the team’s principle is to “make it right the first time” during design and production stage.    In a typical product development process, Bodynits’ design team first proposes designs for clients to understand the current fashion trends. This allows clients to compare their design directions against current trends and select the styles best-suited for their target customers.  Thus, clients develop confidence and trust in Bodynits for its ability to effectively engage them.

Apparel manufacturing is a labour-intensive assembly-line process, requiring significant amounts of repetitive, skilled manipulation to put the materials together.  With manpower shortage, Bodynits has, over the years, re-designed its production processes for optimal use of limited resources, particularly skilled manpower.  It has employed the Eton Hanging System, which is specially geared towards the migration of work in process and calculation of wages (piece rated).  The system has cut production time by 30 percent, and has been re-designed to meet the needs of the Bodynits factory in Singapore.  New fashion designs are also tried and tested against different production processes to identify the most efficient method for the assembly line.

Bodynits believes in leveraging on design, whether it is integrated into processes, aesthetics, manufacturing materials, etc, to maintain its competitive edge.
